Child Safety Standards

Unity ("we", "us"), operated by Maveric Infotech, is committed to protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This Child Safety Standards policy explains our stance, the standards we expect from everyone on the platform, how we respond to violations, and how to report a concern.

1. Zero tolerance

Unity has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and for any content, communication, or behaviour that sexualises, endangers, exploits, or otherwise harms a minor (any person under 18 years of age) — whether or not the minor is a user of the platform. This applies across every part of the app and website: Causes, SOS alerts, blog content, comments, profile information, and any private communication facilitated through the platform.

2. Who can use Unity

Unity requires all account holders to be at least 18 years old, verified by phone number (OTP). We do not knowingly permit minors to register accounts. If we become aware that an account belongs to a minor, we will suspend it.

Minors may still appear as the subject of legitimate community content — for example, a Cause raising funds for a child's medical treatment, organised and posted by a verified adult. Standard 3 below governs what is and isn't acceptable in that context.

3. Standards of conduct

Everyone using Unity — members, approved authors, and organisers — must not:

• Upload, post, share, or link to CSAM in any form.
• Post content that sexualises a minor, even if not unlawful in isolation (e.g. suggestive framing, comments, or captions involving a child).
• Use a Cause, SOS alert, or any other content type to groom, solicit, contact, or exploit a minor.
• Share a minor's personal details (location, school, contact information) in a way that puts them at risk, beyond what is necessary for a legitimate fundraiser or emergency appeal and with a guardian's consent.
• Impersonate a minor, or misrepresent an adult as a minor or vice versa, for any exploitative purpose.

4. How we prevent and respond

Causes and blog posts are only published after review by our admin team (see our Terms & Conditions, §7). SOS alerts are restricted to approved authors and are moderated after publication given their time-sensitive nature. Any content flagged as CSAE-related is removed immediately upon detection, without waiting for a full moderation cycle, and the responsible account is suspended pending investigation.

We cooperate with law enforcement and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or India's designated authorities, and comply with our reporting obligations under India's Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and Section 67B of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

5. How to report a concern

If you encounter content or behaviour on Unity that you believe endangers or exploits a child, report it immediately:

Please include as much detail as possible — a link or description of the content, the account involved, and when you saw it. We aim to acknowledge every child safety report within 24 hours and take action on confirmed violations immediately. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or India's Childline (1098) directly, in addition to reporting to us.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our platform, moderation processes, or legal obligations evolve. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
